Privacy Policy & Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

What we collect

When you create an account we collect either your email address or your phone number, depending on how you sign up. Phone numbers are used to send you a one-time sign-in code and are never shown on your profile or shared publicly.

We also collect the profile information you provide: your handle, display name, city, bio, and optionally a profile song, stored as a Spotify track ID.

We collect your birthdate at sign-up to verify you are 16 or older. Your birthdate is never shown on your profile or shared publicly.

When you use the app, we store which events you save or mark as going, which curators you follow, any memory photos you upload, and how you voted if you take part in an in-app vote.

If you turn on notifications, we store a token that identifies your device so we can send them. If you subscribe to email updates, we store that email address.

If you allow location access on the map, your position is used on your device to centre the map. It is never sent to us or stored.

Our servers record your IP address briefly to limit abuse, such as repeated failed sign-in attempts.

How we use it

We use your information to operate the app — to show you events in your city, display your profile, and award badges based on your activity. We do not sell your data, run ads, or share your information with third parties except as described below.

The first time you follow a curator or RSVP to an event, we ask once whether curators you follow or RSVP to may have your email address. If you say yes, those curators can see and export your email to contact you outside Artzee. Nothing is shared until you say yes, and you can switch it off at any time under Settings.

Third-party services

  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your data is stored on their infrastructure.
  • Google — if you sign in with Google, we receive your email address from Google's OAuth service.
  • Spotify — if you add a profile song or a track to an event, we store only Spotify's ID for that track. Songs are played through Spotify's own embedded player, which loads from Spotify and may set its own cookies in your browser. We never access your Spotify account.
  • Apple — if you sign in with Apple, we receive the email address Apple chooses to share, which may be a private relay address.
  • Twilio — sends the one-time code when you sign in with a phone number. They receive your phone number.
  • PostHog — product analytics. Receives an anonymous account identifier and which screens and features you use, so we can see what is working. It does not receive your email address, phone number, or birthdate. Session recording is turned off. You can switch analytics off under Settings → Privacy.
  • Sentry — error monitoring. Receives crash reports when something breaks. Text on screen is masked in any captured session.
  • Mapbox — draws the map. Receives your IP address when map tiles load, as any website you visit does.
  • Upstash — stores request counts, keyed by IP address, to limit abuse. Entries expire within an hour.
  • Promoters on Artzee — only if you say yes when asked, curators you follow or RSVP to receive your email address and the fact that you follow or are going. They may contact you outside Artzee. Switch it off any time in Settings.
  • Resend — sends email updates if you subscribe. Receives your email address.
  • Vercel — hosts the app. Standard server logs include IP addresses and browser information.

We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Public vs private profiles

By default your profile is public and visible to anyone with a link. You can switch to a private profile at any time in Settings — this hides your profile page from other users.

Photos

Photos you upload to your memory posts are stored in our cloud storage and accessible to anyone with the direct URL. Deleting a photo from your profile also removes it from storage.

Photos taken on a phone can contain hidden information such as the location where the photo was taken. We strip that information from every image before storing it.

Your rights

You can edit or delete your profile information at any time from your profile page. You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Danger zone. Deletion removes your profile, badges, memories, uploaded photos, saved and attended events, follows, notification tokens, email subscriptions, and your login itself.

One exception: if you are a curator, the curator page for your events stays on the site as a record of those events, and is unlinked from your personal account. Ask us at the address below if you want it removed too.

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Once you delete your account it is removed immediately and is not recoverable. Anonymous counts, such as how many times an event page was viewed, are not linked to you and are kept indefinitely.

If you have questions about your data, contact us at hello@artzee.live.

Changes

If we materially change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
