Join us at Capitol Modern for a free screening of Remathau: People of the Ocean, an award-winning documentary following Micronesian marine biologist Nicole Yamase, the first Micronesian to dive to Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench. Beyond documenting her historic dive, the film follows Yamase on a journey of self-discovery as she reconnects with her people’s resilience, history, culture, and deep-rooted relationship with the ocean. Following the screening, stay for a special discussion with director Daniel H. Lim and learn more about the stories and experiences behind the film.
