8/21 Please see our most updated post, pinned to the top of our feed. Make your Saturday a SUPER one! 🌺🎨✨ Super Saturday: Creative Micronesia is back on! Join us on August 29 for a special day celebrating Creative Micronesia: Music, Movement, Poetry & Fashion and the vibrant cultures, creativity, and traditions of Micronesian communities. Mahalo nui for your patience and understanding as we rescheduled due to the storm. We hope you, your ʻohana, and your communities are safe and doing well. 💛 In partnership with the East-West Center, this family-friendly day will highlight artists from the Micronesian diaspora through hands-on cultural arts activities, presentations, live music, and more. Meet Micronesian and Pacific Islands artists, create something of your own, and spend the day learning, connecting, and celebrating together. While you’re here, explore Arts of Oceania, our new exhibition featuring recently acquired Micronesian and Melanesian artworks from the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts’ Art in Public Places Collection, alongside Māori wind instruments and traditional weapons by Kalama Fallau. Bring the whole ʻohana and spend your Saturday creating with us! 🌊💛 🎟️ FREE admission, family-friendly, open to all ages! 📅 Saturday, August 29, 11:00 AM-3:00 PM 📍 Capitol Modern is the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum #CapitolModern #SuperSaturday #CreativeMicronesia #ArtsOfOceania #PacificArts HawaiiEvents Promotional graphic and map for Super Saturday at Capitol Modern, part of the Creative Micronesia: Music, Movement, Poetry & Fashion series.
