Join us for an evening where food takes center stage. The best food writing reminds us not only of the pleasure of taste but also of the cultural, political, and social dynamics that are reflected in what we eat. Co-organized by Kristiana Kahakauwila and Sujatha Raman of Mixing Innovative Arts (MIA) Honolulu, the evening features: 🔴 Ligaya Mishan, Chief Restaurant Critic of The New York Times and author of Filipinx: Heritage Recipes from the Diaspora 🔴 Aya Hirata Kimura, author of Fermenting for the Future: Japanese Pickles and Microbial Foodways, 🔴 Chandanie Somwaru, author of the forthcoming Rude Gyal: Poems Readings are followed by a brief Q&A and refreshments. Come hungry for good words and great conversation. 📍OurSpace, 1052 Waimanu St. Honolulu,HI 🗓️ Thursday, November 5, 6-8 pm 🎟️ Free RSVP, via link bio Flyer by erkaerka.
